YES! I, your Friendly Neighborhood C21 Troop Realtor, used to be a serial food waster! I was the "Dexter" of fresh produce and fruit. Seriously, you did not want to be a carton of fresh strawberries, or tomatoes in my house during those days!
Btw, the average household of four throws away as much as $2,275.00 worth of food from their fridge annually!
The GOOD NEWS is that there are a few simple things you can do to keep those luscious fruits and veggies from turning into your next science project, or mold garden. YUCK! So, here are a couple of time-and-money-saving tips that I swear by:

1. FREEZE that fruit.
I toss mine into my handy Vitamix straight from the fridge and blend up some pretty awesome smoothies!
2. Pre-chop those YUMMY veggies.
Pre-chop, then freeze in plastic freezer bags; which, btw, cuts down your cooking time by about 20 minutes later on!
3. Use those pre-chopped veggies for "One-Pot" meals!
4. Finally, if you do fall off the food saving wagon, use those furry little "Tribbles" as scraps for your garden!
As a health nut, one of my personal favorite smoothie recipes is:
A scoop of: Amazing Grass: Green Superfood powder (Acai Berry) mixed with coconut milk, banana, apple, raw honey and cinnamon.
TO DIE FOR! The frozen fruit adds just the perfect chill to a healthy and delicious homemade smoothie!
As always,thanks for reading!
